SALONI celebrated the release of her black tie capsule collection by reimagining the former residence of artist Willem de Kooning’s New York apartment as Saloni’s home where friends of the brand were invited for an intimate evening dinner.
Set designer Julia Wagner turned the artist’s home into a SALONI home for 24 hours, curating special pieces of furniture and Saloni prints as curtains.
Guided through a secret passageway behind the main apartment, the guests are led to the dining venue where a long table is revealed. Artist Dylan Bailey hand-painted the table inspired by de Kooning’s colors and style, paying homage to the artist and celebrating the love of colors complimenting the rainbow-like black tie collection on display at the front of house.
Guests dined to a hearty vegetarian meal in the back room before a dance party commenced once again in the apartment. Drinks by the Herball and tunes by Parisian DJ, Cosmo kept the crowd going all night. This event also celebrated the designer’s debut window display at Saks Fifth Avenue, an interpretation of the Holi Saloni event in March 2018.
